getting people to buy.This is not a case study. This is not mock consulting for a local business. You are in charge of a real business where you shape the product offer and win real customers.

MANG 442 is the essential sales and marketing course to give you superpower skills for any career path. But you only earn these skills through real trial and error.You will leave with:

  • A framework to assess root sales challenges

How It Works

Congratulations! You are the new owner of a small cookie gifting business. Now you must get to work winning customers.

1-minute pitch : You will define who your customer is, introduce product or positioning changes, and present a sales hypothesis.

Voting : Following all presentations, you will vote on your favorites. The top hypotheses move forward to form small teams.

Weekly Workshops : Your team will present on what's working, what's not, and the decisions you are stuck on. Your peers and guest instructors will provide feedback so you can run smarter tests to win more customers.

Learn from expert guests : We invite business owners and leaders to share their unique experiences in solving sales for their business. These guest instructors will advise your team on how to win the market with Send Warm Cookies.Team Dinner: At the end of the semester we host a special dinner with our guest instructors and CMU leadership. You will share your wins, and flops, and insights for incoming students. This dinner is about building confidence in the people who may be the source of your next internship or job.

Earn Credit

This is a three credit course (MANG 442) open to students across CMU; any year, any area of study. There are no prerequisites.

Earn Scholarship $

As you figure out how to get more people to send a gift of warm cookies, your profits will grow. We then set aside these profits to be paid out as scholarships.The better this business performs, the greater your scholarships.
